Sanitation & Recycling
The Town of Monon provides a recycling area located on 3rd Street just east of Caboose Park. You can bring your paper, plastic, aluminum and/or glass products and place them in the appropriate containers. The dumpsters are for cardboard only (please flatten boxes). Thank you for recycling!
The city of Town of Monon contracts with an outside waste management company for solid waste collection and recycling. Everyone within the city limits is required to have garbage collection.
One large trash bin is provided for each residence. Monthly cost of garbage collection is currently $8.00 per month. This charge appears on your water bill.
Large items and/or extra bags may be picked up for an additional fee. Stickers for these items are purchased at the Monon Town Hall. Large item stickers are $7.00 per item; extra bag stickers are $1.00 per bag.
Curbside garbage pick up is Friday mornings.
For questions specific to trash please call the Town Hall at 219 253-6441.
